Podcasting
Persuaded by the release of the NPR Science Fridays broadcasts, I tried podcasting for the first time today, and I've got to say, it's pretty monumental that all this is being released for free. It's basically an immediate download of the transcript, the same transcript you'd previously have to pay bling-bling to buy the CD of. In the case of Science Friday, they've actually had their material available for sale at audible.com, and audible must be pretty pissed about this. But why shouldn't it be free? Radio is free.
Podcasting lets you download the broadcasts and listen to them on your commute, or at home while you do the dishes.
So, download iPodder (has nothing to do with the iPod, other than the fact that you can download the broadcasts to it, like any portable mp3 player), and give podcasting a whirl.
