Count Me In
Been studying for finals like woah this past week, not much internetting. Still no final work on the summer yet, but I'm 95% sure I'm going down to Bordeaux/Cognac to work renovating a cognac distillery, sharped my rusty french, and hang out with erik and steph.
Found a fun article in the Washington Post about a new book on the Riemann Hypothesis. It brings up a number of fun cute mathematical points of fascination.
I've been spending a fare bit of time surfing through Wikipedia recently. Knowledge, just can't get enough. Some interesting articles: Unsolved Problems, Dining Philosophers Problem, Sleeping Barber Problem, Hilbert's 23 problems, Seven Bridges of Königsberg (particularly the fun variation puzzle, where use of Euler cycles provides a very neat solution, try it!). As you can tell, I've been digging my Discrete Math class, particularly the Graph Theory parts.
The social room for the Lund engineering physicists is called the Hilbert Room. (In Swedish, mathematical "space" and room are the same word). If you find that funny, you're my friend.
